Today, Friday, 13 July, Rachael Maskell MP presented two giant birthday cards to Mark Proctor, Acting Chief Executive, and members of staff at York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to celebrate the 70 years of the NHS. The cards celebrate the invaluable work the NHS has done over the past 70 years.

The cards were signed by members of the public in York to mark the 70th Birthday of the NHS in gratitude for the invaluable service provided by the NHS staff.

Throughout Ms Maskell’s career she has been an advocate for the NHS and the work it does. She herself worked as a physiotherapist in the National Health Service for 20 years.

Rachael Maskell MP praised the NHS staff by saying  “I am sure everyone in York would want to say thank you to the incredible service the NHS staff have given over the last 70 years. The NHS sees 1 million people every 36 hours, everyone is treated the same and given the help they need regardless of their ability to pay. The dedicated professionalism, love and care of 1.3million staff is a testimony of the values of the NHS”.
