The Labour MP for York Central has said that non-essential companies, making people come into work, are acting in a dangerous way.

She said she felt traumatised by stories she was told during her last telephone surgery.

People told her that they were being forced to carry on working in conditions that ignored social distancing in factories. warehouses and other sites.

She was told there was close contact, poor hygiene and little personal protection equipment.

Threatened with disciplinary action, when raising his own health conditions, one was told to stop making a fuss.

Tonight on Twitter @RachaelMaskell she promised to get in touch with one company in York on Monday as she was really concerned by what she was hearing.

“The lowest paid workers are the ones who are some of the most exposed to the risk – this exploitation must stop.  Unless all employers take the lockdown seriously more people will have Coronavirus and more people will die.”
