Rachael Maskell visits RSPCA Summer Fair

Rachael Maskell, MP for York Central, attended the RSPCAs Summer Fair on Sunday the 18th of August to show her continued support and belief in the charity.

The annual Summer Fair, held at the York Animal Home, Landing Lane, hosted multiple stalls, a dog show, raffle along with refreshments to raise awareness and funds for the RSPCAs cause.

Rachael Maskell MP has championed animal welfare throughout her time representing York in Parliament, giving multiple presentations on behalf of the Labour Animal Welfare Society in the past. Ms Maskell has also stood against fox hunting and badger culling, and has contributed to the Labour party’s future animal protection strategy.

Ms Maskell said “The RSPCA Summer Fair is always a fun afternoon, it was fantastic to see so many people attending along with their animals, and vitally raising money to support this local charity.  I urge anyone who is thinking of getting a new pet to support the adoption of an abandoned animal and help provide them with a happy loving home.  Donating to the RSPCA or taking part in their events is enough to make a difference for the pets we all love”
