Rachael Maskell took part in the London to Brighton Party Conference Bike Ride to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation. Rachael cycled the 56 mile route from capital to coast on her way to the Labour Party Conference, held this year at the Brighton Centre.

The Party Conference bike ride traced the famous British Heart Foundation fundraiser route from London to Brighton which has just celebrated its 40th year and has helped to raise over £65m for life saving research into heart disease.

Rachael says:
“I really enjoyed taking part in the British Heart Foundation London to Brighton bike ride fundraiser, on my way to the Labour Party Conference. As a keen cyclist, it’s a brilliant event to be involved in, helping to raise funds for people affected by heart disease.

“The British Heart Foundation have many sports fundraising events throughout the year and I urge anyone thinking of registering to go for it, join the campaign and get active for this great cause. I would really like to thank everyone who has sent their support and donated towards this event in order to raise awareness and vital funds for the British Heart Foundation”

Coronary heart disease is the UK’s single biggest killer, claiming around 73,000 lives a year -; that’s an average of 200 lives every day. Money raised from events such as the Party Conference Bike Ride is currently helping to support over 1,000 research projects into heart disease around the UK. Progress is being made but there are still millions of adults and children who need help.
