Living Wage

The living wage is calculated on the basis of the basic cost of living and is currently £7.85 an hour. Paying the living wage means that families will be less dependent on benefits to support them in work, that business will be able to retain and recruit staff more effectively and most important of all, families will have a wage that they can live off. More money will be spent in the local economy, generating more profits to invest in wages.
